In order to better promote the preparations of the 1st Boao International Conference on Real-world Studies of Medical Products, and make the conference a high-level real-world study academic event, from October 13-14, Lecheng Administration held a preparatory meeting for the event in Beijing with the International Exchange Center of NMPA, Hainan Medical Product Administration and China Health Media Group.
A series of meetings were attended by leaders and experts from organizations such as Hainan Medical Products Administration, Hainan Institute of Real World Data, China Center for Food and Drug International Exchange, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, Beijing Children’s Hospital of Capital Medical University, the Periodical Office of China Food and Drug Administration, and China Health Media Group.

Fu Zhu, a Party committee member and deputy director of Lecheng Administration, welcomed the expert’s involvement, and expressed heartfelt gratitude for everyone’s great support for the Lecheng Administration and Hainan Institute of Real World Data all the time, and expected that with the assistance and support of every expert, the conference can be a high-level event.

Qu Jia, executive president of Hainan Institute of Real World Data, said, this conference will be a concentrated release of the real-world study achievements of China and receive a lot of attention from Hainan Institute of Real World Data, and hoped that with the wisdom and strength of every expert, every work could be done well.

Zhu Feng, director of the Cooperation Department of China Center for Food and Drug International Exchange, said that as one of the main undertakers of the conference, the Center observed the guidance of the NMPA, paid much attention to this issue and hoped to gather the strength of each party and make the conference an authoritative and professional academic event. A series of achievements have been made to spread the voice of China in real-world studies across the world and lead the international trend.

It’s reported that in order to show the theoretical and practical achievements of China in real-world studies and comprehensively build an exchange and cooperation platform for real-world studies of medical products, a series of achievements will be released during the event, including the “Special Issue on Real-world Studies and Regulatory Innovation of Medical Products”, the written proposal of the conference and the summaries of forums. “The Special Issue” has received heated response and active contributions from experts and scholars of colleges and universities, research institutes, enterprises and other related personnel. At the conference, after the steps such as scoring by experts, discussion, review and recommendation. Ultimately 13 excellent papers were included into the “Special Issue”.

The reviewing experts believed that the papers were fairly high in overall quality and level, covering the latest theoretical and practical achievements in such areas as registered clinical researches, post-marketing clinical researches, health economics research, clinical research methodology, real-world evidence and regulatory science, showing the high scientific research strength of China in the field of real-world studies.

The attendees of the conference also studied and discussed and reached an initial consensus on the organization and labor division of forums, the draft of written proposal, the preparation of forum summaries, the collection and review of presentation PowerPoint documents and other issues for the event.
